Now, there are a few more details on the changes over on the new website, so please click the link right here (yes, that one), to get the full rundown of the aspects of the new site and even the changes to the way we’re doing business.  Don’t worry, it’s not a long list and we’re not doing anything absolutely world-changing, but I can tell you that it’s going to be fantastic.

I know at least a few of you have been waiting a while for this bit of news.  Capcom has just released Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3′s free Heroes & Heralds mode as DLC on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.  All you have to do is start the game and be online.

A completely separate mode for both online and offline play, Heroes & Heralds lets you fight as Earth’s heroes, fending off Galactus, or as the heralds of Galactus, fighting to conquer the planet.  The gimmick of this game mode is that you can actually customize your abilities using set of three cards you collect in battle.  For instance, having a Cyclops card as your main card will both increase your attack power and make every attack cause chip damage.  As a secondary card, Cyclops would just cause all attacks to do chip damage.  The list of cards and effects goes on for pages (or one long page, right here!) and the amount of potentially game-changing strategies that come with all the combinations is really, really exciting.  Honestly, the best way to figure it all out is to just login, dive in, and find out for yourself.  Get to it, challengers!

As if you needed another reason to watch the VGA’s tonight, Ubisoft announced that the first official trailer for Rainbow 6: Patriot will debut at the event. They did release a trailer not too long ago but hopefully this new trailer will give us a bit more insight on what the final game will look and play like.

Besides being good at video games, here’s 10 ways you can make your way through Rayman: Origins.

Mobage recently ported some of their #1 iPhone games over to Android, most notably Tiny Tower. Tiny Tower is, of course, the hit game that has three of the four Guest Controller editors busy as we constantly build, stock and restock our towers. We don’t need to say it again but Tiny Tower is one of the best social games we’ve played and now, folks on Android get to experience the game.

There have been reported compatibility issues so check through the Android Marketplace website to see if your phone can play the game.

If you are still out there as a casual Starcraft fan maybe watching a stream here and checking out a tournament there without actually having played the game, now is your chance to pick the game up for yourself and play one of the best RTS’s out there. Blizzard did introduce a starter pack for the game but now you can pick up the full game for half off. At $30, the game is a pretty great purchase with the great campaign and the full multiplayer suite that has grown significantly since launch. We can’t stress enough that this game can keep you occupied for hours on end with the various modes. You can play a ladder match then various custom games to cool off; Either way, you’re in for a real treat in Starcraft II if you get the game now.

The ending of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood has left a vast empty, Armageddon-like black hole in the pit of our minds. At the end of Ubisoft’s latest installment in the franchise, we find that Desmond, Lucy, Shaun, and R3b3cca (nod to her creative email signature) head into Rome to find where Ezio left the Apple of Eden for safe-keeping in the Roman Coliseum. Once inside the Coliseum leading to the Temple of Juno, Desmond is able to awesomely parkour himself through the puzzle-like temple while carefully listening to what Juno has to say about humans and how her advanced civilization who came before only gave them five of six senses. The sixth sense that we are missing is knowledge – or foresight/intuition – sense that has been somewhat attained by the certain members of the Order of Assassins in the form of Eagle Vision. As you get closer to the Apple, Juno decides to vent at Desmond, becoming upset and disappointed that they even gave the human race senses at all or that they allowed humans to progress as far as they did. One attaining it, the Apple takes control of Desmond’s body, Juno tells him he must locate a woman of particular interest. Juno says Lucy is “clouded by the cross” and that Desmond doesn’t fully understand everything so she makes him kill Lucy… or does she?

Let’s name a couple important facts about the Apple of Eden before moving on

1. It has the power to control civilizations or in another beautiful word, mankind.
2. The Order of Assassins is immune to the effects of the Apple. Wait, what? Let me emphasize this one more time. The Order of Assassins is immune to being completely controlled by the apple. Wait a second…wasn’t Desmond controlled by the apple? If he wasn’t, then what happened?

Here’s my theory:
So we know the assassins are immune to the effect of being completely controlled BUT not to the effect of having one’s mind clouded. Let us take a field trip all the way to Assassins Creed 1 with Altair and Al-Mualim. Remember this? Altair is called out for breaking all three tenants of the creed? What does Al-Mualim do? Stabs him in the abdomen…..same as where desmond stabs Lucy? And what happens after? When Altair is in disbelief saying, “I am alive? But I saw you kill me!” and then Al-Mualim replies, “You saw only what I wanted you to see.” I never got that till a few days ago when all this came together. Al-mualim was in possession of the apple. He never stabbed Altair he only gave Altair the impression, through the power of the apple, that he had killed him to make a point.

And let’s go back to what Juno was saying. There’s this girl that Desmond needs to find correct? It’s not Lucy, because Juno refers to her not being within sight. So there is someone else that Desmond needs to find. Now remember Juno and this Civilization have the ability of foreknowledge. They see what can happen. What has been going on with Lucy and Desmond? If you read the emails from William M. to Lucy and also just Lucy’s dialogue with characters and Desmond you find that she is wary of pushing Desmond too far. She doesn’t want the same thing to happen to him as happened to subject 16, who also plays a part in my theory but I will mention him later. William M. also sends an email to Lucy telling her to not screw everything up because of the feelings she may or may not have for Desmond. Juno see’s this in the future. Juno sees something that may mess up the chance for Desmond to fulfill her wishes in meeting the mystery woman who will help him bring her and her civilization back into the world. Lucy needs to be dealt with…but Juno can’t do anything because of the fact that she is not physically there, which makes things problematic when wanting to do physical harm against someone. Also, she can’t use the apple to take control of anyone in the room because they all are immune to the apple’s ability to take complete control of their bodies. But something someone is not immune to is exactly what happened to Altair all those years ago. I believe that Juno used the apple to give Desmond the vision, making him see only what she wanted him to see, of himself killing Lucy. He stabs her in the exact same spot Altair was stabbed by Al-Mualim, just a coincidence? Ubisoft doesn’t make coincidences. When William M. comes into the scene (or rather just his voice) there is no mention of Lucy dead or dying, only Desmond being in shock and getting him back into the animus. Lucy is alive and well.

Now back to Subject 16, which is everyone’s proof that Lucy is a templar and therefore she really is dead and blah blah blah SHUTUP! Try this…When Desmond meets subject 16 in the animus he says the line “She isn’t who you think she is” or something of the like. This is what I believe he means by this. Minerva….Desmond had just met Minerva through the previous game and she made her spiel. What if she is the one not to be trusted. Remember the truth video? Humans were basically the slaves of the civilization. They were held captive under the power of the pieces of Eden. Minerva, and now Juno are not who they seem to be and subject 16 knows this and tries to warn Desmond. If you don’t believe me I’ll leave you with this statement.
There is a civilization. They had all the power, wealth, and knowledge. Humans were their slaves. Humans do not have foreknowledge. And this civilization, who are not anymore of this world, can be brought back only with the help of the descendants of Adam and Eve (who in the Truth Video are seen to be escaping the captivity). They will come back just to save humanity from an event that only they foresaw? Now maybe the event is true, maybe it’s not, but one thing is certain. Minerva and Juno have alternative motives in this. There’s no doubt. (ok so maybe that was another paragraph…)
