Psychonauts

The summer is still a little slow in the video game department so I thought I would stack my Game Fly with old Xbox Original hits that I loved and was never able to finish. Before I go any farther, this game is compatible with the 360, here is the official Xbox link. I was looking up the game on Amazon for a purchase and the game has nearly perfect reviews and the same goes for critics. It was pretty easy for most people to skip over this game just because it kinda looks bad but believe me, it is worth going back for. The game is now free up on ” ” so go ahead and download it if you have a PC that can run it (doesn’t take much) or nab it off of XBLA as it is a Xbox Original Title in the store for 1200 points. This game if from the brilliant mind of Tim Schafer who had created many games this being my favorite from him.

Nates Summer Games to Play!

Summer time is coming and going but for now if you need something to play check out my list Summer titles. After playing about every new game that came out and downloading some old but good titles I have gathered quite the list of games to get your hands or rent. The summer has felt really slow though despite the amount of games I will list, very few big titles seem to have launched since Crackdown 2, sadly. Many other games have also launched but nothing to really replace your old favorites. And look at the dude in Oblivion enjoying the weather and you know that since the avatar is enjoying summer that is player must be as well! So make sure to get some good old summer games and play it up because the sun is scary and kills people.

Brave Arms Beta Launch

As a fan of Facebook games, I enjoy following whatever news on new games coming to Facebook. Usually, the game I’m talking about involves farming or “time-based” at one point, but this is an exception; today I get to talk about a first-person shooter. Three G has been developing an actual first-person shooter for Facebook for quite a while and I remember signing up for the beta and almost forgetting all about that game. But, finally, they have launched their game on Facebook, Brave Arms.

I managed to play one game and I can assure you, it is a first person shooter and it really works. So far, there were few people playing, but the game is still young and has room to grow. Brave Arms currently only works on a few internet browsers; specifically, Internet Explorer 7 and 8, along with Firefox 3.5 and 3.6 and recently Google Chrome. Support for other browsers is on the way. The game is very bare bones at this point. The controls, for instance, are not customizable at all, not even for inverting your y-axis, which is a big deal for me. After checking the forums, the developers ensure that updates for features that are requested, such as the customizable controls are on the way.

If you still can check out the game, I would strongly suggest it. Once I can invert my controls, I will gladly play more of the game and give you all a review. Check out the Brave Arms Official Website for more info on the game and also a link to Facebook so you can play right now!

Frontierville: A New Frontier for Zynga Games

By now, I’m sure we all get Farmville. The idea of slowly growing a farm while taking up your once idle time is quite appealing. If it wasn’t, Farmville would have disappeared by now. Zynga games expanded on Farmville with complete other games like Mafia Wars, Petville, Cafeworld. But now, Zynga is trying a new game with different mechanics and I have to say; It’s not that bad.

Enginer UPDATEEEEE!!!!!!

I am a LITTLE late on the update of the ever so awesome Engineer of Team Fortress 2, with new guns, tools and sentries. People have been raiding TF2 matches with Engineers since Thursday. Since I was sadly late to this news, I am just going to quickly review the new stuff and link you to the good old TF2 blog to check out everything for your self.

The Wrangler – An awesome looking cosmic ray gun that enables wiedlers to TAKE CONTROL OF THEIR SENTRY. No longer will you have to idly sit by as some dude sits around a corner only to pop out and shoot some stickies at your sentry! Engies will now be able to man the post and, I guess, try and splash damage some one? I am not really sure what the major use of this is besides being able to focus down what target you want versus the sentry A.I. but be careful when turning the sentry lose again; it will be uncharged for 3 WHOLE SECONDS! Some good old balancing in act! I do hear from a source it is a tad over powered so be forewarned: You could get angry when playing.

The Gunslinger – This bad ass cowboy is a GLOVE. This kinda looks like that N64 glove to be honest. Go check the JPEGs kids, you’ll see what I mean. Now what this wild west tool will enable you to do is have more life to get close to the line and deploy BABY SENTRIES. They aren’t called baby sentries but they are small little battle ready sentries. Not much else to say but apparently its a little weak so go try it out and use The Wrangler on it because that should help!

Frontier Justice – This gun has a list of features as long as my played game list so you can check this one out for your self here CLICK ME NAOW.

They also made a wall of all the people that have created weapons for TF2 so far or at least the first 100. The people that got published weapons into the game. Everyone that has TF2 go get them some Engi weapons and do it up people!

Yes, one. As in singular. Moving away from the character creation and origin stories of the wildly popular Dragon Age: Origins, BioWare has decided to go for a new feel in Dragon Age 2. The central focus of this change in game style is the new main character, Hawke. Instead of choosing your name, race, and background, Hawke is either a female or male Human survivor of the Blight “who will transform the face of the Dragon Age universe forever.” Head past the post break to get details on the game straight from the EA and BioWare’s press release, and some really impressive concept art.

Head past the post break for more info, a little bit of speculation, and some REALLY cool artwork!

Review: Blur

Racing games are in an odd place in this generation. Many racing games are trying to bend towards the realistic side of things. Need for Speed tried this with Shift and the only other big name racing games, think Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport, are practically simulation racing games. This opens up a lot of space for other developers to think about the other end of the spectrum. What if our racing game wasn’t super-realistic and we had power-ups to shoot other drivers off the road? Blur hopes to fill this space. View full article »

Mike and Jankins Talk About Games: Episode 5

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Mike and Jankins is back. Today, we discuss Split/Second, Blur and compare the two. Then, we talk about the Katamari series as a whole. We also get in our Starcraft discussions since we talk about Starcraft all the time anyway. In an effort to bring up other topics, Nate and I discuss the price of games and what makes a game $60 or whatever the price may be. Of course, we ramble on off topic throughout the podcast. We are trying out new and different recording solutions to bring you the best podcast possible, so please leave a comment about your thoughts on the podcast. Also, leave a comment about your game that’s so bad it’s good.
